One More Last Call, Anybody??

So these two rounds for Baker's Dozen loglines were incredibly successful, and I thank all of you for that. With each other's help and support, the sky is the limit. We're lucky to be in such an amazing community of people.

Now, I know this week is the official submission window for the Adult genres for Baker's Dozen and it's probably too late for them, but the YA/MG crowd still has another week to go. If anyone who participated in the "One Last Chance" critique round with a YA/MG entry is interested in another critique round for their revisions, let me know in the comments. If at least 10 people are interested by Monday evening, then I will host another round this week. So get commenting!! I'd be willing to host another 25-30 entries.

Continue to rock on, writers!! I'm super impressed with everything I've seen thus far.

  5. K.T. - I have a question: Are we allowed to re-write our logline based on reader feedback? I'd really like to do so, but I'm not sure where to put it. Do I make a new comment and direct readers to it? Or do I submit again to the new round you've just offered?
This is such an incredible experience! Thank you!

    1. Definitely! You are welcome to do both. See if you can grab some more feedback on your revision by posting it in the comments of your current post, and feel free to submit again to the next round (should we have enough interest to do one).

  12. I'd jump in for another round, I'm #47. Is it open to those who have not participated? I have a friend who missed the deadline and would appreciate an opportunity.

  14. I would love to.
How long is the commenting on this round? I'm in the middle of evacuating in NYC, and want to make sure I can comment on a few more loglines. When this is all over, I'll check back. Thank you for doing this!

    1. No worries, Karen! A couple more days, at least. You have plenty of time.

Good luck with the storm and stay safe; I'm in Boston, waiting our turn at it. Let's hope it's not as bad as they're predicting! :)

  15. You are all very welcome; thank you for participating and offering not only your fantastic writing, but awesome critiques, as well. I will post instructions tonight/early tomorrow morning for the next round, should a few more people be interested.

  16. Wow, K.T. thanks for all the work you're doing for us. I've only tweaked my logline (#45) a little bit, but I'll happily re-submit it for more feedback (especially if it means that more people get theirs critted too).

  17. My MS is adult, but I'll gladly help critiquing the next round, not that I'm much help! I enjoyed so many of the MG/YA story lines and can't wait to read more.

And be aware the word limit is 60, not 75 like I thought (ugh!)

Prayers go out to all in the way of the upcoming storm. I hope your family and pets stay safe!

  20. I was trying to remember the logline word count on the Baker's Dozen web form. DJ says 60. Is that correct? If so, I've got to do some trimming.

    ReplyDelete
  21. That's correct--you'll have a total of 315 words, which should be split 60 logline and 255 first page max.

I'm without power right now, but I will be going forward with another critique round. I'll post all the info tomorrow, so stay tuned. And spread the word to anyone entering BD who is still in need of help with their logline.

    So much fun!!
